As part of our monthly trucker spotlight series, we would like to celebrate Tiakara Kelly, one of our dedicated drivers, who exemplifies compassion and steadfastness in her work.
From the very beginning of her career, Tiakara has demonstrated a remarkable commitment and strong work ethic, setting a high standard for everyone. In several instances this year, she stepped up to lead without hesitation.
Donnie Smith, Trucking Manager, reflected on seeing this leadership in action on a recent project. He shared, “The team was on a project guided by her leadership for about six weeks. It was awesome seeing Tiakara take the lead to inform everyone about where to get fuel. I checked our systems to track progress, and I knew I didn’t have to worry.”
He continued, “She didn’t just complete her tasks; she led the way. She managed logistics, including fuel procurement, scheduling, and start times, all while maintaining a smooth operation without any complaints.”
Donnie closed by explaining, “She really took on that leadership role by herself. We appreciate her stepping into those shoes!”
Tiakara reflected on her time with the Dickerson & Bowen team with gratitude, stating, “I’ve been here for about five years. I love it, and [Donnie] here has helped me a lot. I have nothing bad to say about [the job]. I enjoy the people and what I do.”
