Our employee of the month series, Blueprint for Excellence, shines a spotlight on our team members who go above and beyond, lead by example, and champion our core values in everything they do.
This month’s spotlight belongs to Broom Operator Jimmy Bryant, a dependable teammate whose nearly six years of service have helped keep projects moving and crews supported day in and day out. Known by many as “Jim,” he is someone his teammates can count on without hesitation, whether it is a routine day or a fast-moving night shift.
Jimmy’s path with the company reflects both growth and versatility. He started as a laborer and has developed into a skilled broom operator who can also step in on a rubber tire roller when needed. His willingness to learn and adapt has made him an essential part of the team.
Michael Donovan, Superintendent, has seen firsthand the impact Jimmy makes when it matters most. “When challenges came up on a recent milling operation, Jimmy stepped in and did a great job keeping the project moving. His work clearing debris allowed us to stay on track and keep the paving project moving forward,” Michael summarized. “During our overall night work, Jimmy’s experience and support continued to help the crew keep production moving forward.”
That level of dependability is something Michael says the team relies on every day. “He is always on time, is always giving it his best during the day, and he continues to learn and displays that knowledge,” he added.
Jimmy’s knowledge and attention to detail also stand out to Darryl Terry, Foreman. “Jimmy has a vast amount of operator knowledge about the rubber tire roller and the broom. When he’s operating the rubber tire roller, he knows when to hit the asphalt, how many passes it needs, and how to keep the density numbers looking good.”
Darryl shared, “Jimmy is a super reliable guy, and we can always count on him. When we need someone to step in and help, we call him, and he always makes it happen.”
Beyond his technical skill, Jimmy takes pride in the condition of his equipment and the quality of his work. “Jimmy is a good communicator on the job site, and he takes pride in his equipment. He’s checking the oil every day and staying on top of his daily equipment checks,” Darryl added. That same pride and consistency have made a lasting impression on his coworkers as well.
Dennis McDuffey, Transfer Machine Operator and Journeyman, shared, “Jimmy is a dedicated worker who shows up every day ready to work. He keeps his equipment neat and clean, and it is some of the best-looking in the company. He is a great co-worker and really does a great job of living each of our core values.“
Those who know Jimmy can attest that his work speaks for itself. Whether he is helping keep a project on schedule, stepping in to support the crew, or ensuring his equipment is in top condition, he consistently delivers with our core values of excellence and sustainability that sets the standard for those around him.
Jimmy’s reliability, skill, and commitment to doing the job right make him a strong example of Blueprint for Excellence in action. His team knows they can count on him, and that kind of trust is what keeps projects moving forward every day. Congratulations, Jimmy, and thank you for the impact you make on your crew and across our company!
