As our recent Trucker Appreciation honoree, we are thrilled to spotlight James Daniel Cole for his outstanding dependability and dedication to safety. Safety is more than just a buzzword for Daniel; it is paramount to everything he does.
Driving the heavy hauler lowboy, he is responsible for transporting large equipment loads, a role that requires precision, patience, and a vast knowledge of machine operation.
Daniel’s journey to Dickerson & Bowen started when he saw a “Drivers Needed” sign in Jackson while working for a local wrecker company. Tired of being out of town all the time, he decided to make the switch, and he hasn’t looked back since.
In his six years with the company, Daniel has built a reputation for being incredibly consistent. Trucking Manager Donnie Smith recalls a time he asked Daniel to be at a job site by daylight, only to find that Daniel was already finished and on his way back by the time the sun came up. “He lives our core value of safety,” Donnie noted. “He does so much to ensure our equipment is secure, and he takes great pride in his work. His new truck always looks great because he makes sure it stays clean.”
“This has been the best company I’ve ever been a part of,” shared Daniel. “It’s like a family atmosphere. You actually want to get up and come to work.” Despite the challenges of modern traffic and heavy loads, Daniel remains a huge advocate for the team. “I would 100% tell anyone to come work here.”
